Check Out The Review & Trailer For Short Movie “ReRe-Animated”

I do love being contacted from directors, makes me feel special and warm and fuzzy inside but it also gives me the opportunity to check out some great work that flies under the radar, obviously you are a bit cautious because in this day and age anyone can pick a camera and shoot something but with “ReRe-Animated” I was very pleasantly surprised.

Writer and director Wesley Alley has created a fine piece of work here and will be entering the film into festivals over the next few months, fingers crossed for someone to pick it up for distribution, until then check out the trailer below and keep up to date with their Facebook Page

I’ll hand over the reigns now to one of our great reviewers James, click on his name below to find him personally on Twitter

James:

We’ve all seen a bunch of zombie movies hit screens over the years and in all fairness after some time they all seem to merge into one with no sign of real originality separating one from another. Luckily we have come across a short which proves that originality is, luckily, still alive and kicking, that’s right, ReReAnimator kicks life back into the whole idea of zombies taking over.

We are in the presence of two friends, Brian and Wess, who are bickering between themselves in a pool hall. The topic: zombies. Brian is convinced there is a zombie apocalypse coming after ‘witnessing’ the undead walking the streets but his buddy Wess has other ideas and immediately dismisses his friend’s ‘foolish’ claims. Through flashbacks from each of the guy’s points of view the events start to unravel, but the question is, are zombies about to take over?

Adopting a comic book-style credit sequence and Scott Pilgrim-esque on-screen sound effects, ReReAnimator is a stylish representation of the zombie sub-genre and manages to maintain its own unique feel well. Bringing two likeable and humourous characters to screen, it defies the all-too-often seen conventions of zombie features and provides an ultimately entertaining fifteen minutes. Director Wesley Alley clearly knows how to keep his audience’s attention and provides plenty to smile about and a funny yet unexpected ending to proceedings.

Synopsis:

Bodies line the streets, zombies roam hunting for brains or flesh, the “Zombie Apocalypse is now”… At least that is what Brian thinks. Brian drags Wess from his bed, and out through the night barricading themselves inside the safest place to be when zombies attack… A bar… Wess doubting the accuracy of Brian’s recollection tries to convince him he could be wrong. Together the two friends wait out what could be the zombie apocalypse arguing as their imaginations run wild.
